Me and My Little Brother

I've decided recently to really make an effort with completing more scrapbooking pages, which was actually the way I was introduced to papercraft (thanks Helene!!!). Cardmaking has definitely taken over (not such a bad thing though!), but photos are just oh so special, and I want to preserve more of them for Luana to look back on in the future. One way I've figured out to do this is to use blog challenges as inspiration. I have that many photos just waiting to be scrapped that at least one always fits the bill.

This week, I created a page for Mel's latest challenge; it's been a while since I've been able to play with one of her challenges. Her inspiration was some gorgeous trees in all their Autumn glory in Canberra.

I've used the colours So Saffron, Ruby Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and for the neutral, Sahara Sand.

Last year my brother FINALLY came to visit us - we'd only been up here 3 1/2 years! While he was here we were able to spend a bit of time just him and me, which was really nice, and one of these times we went on the Barrawei Walk at the Katherine Gorge. I felt a bit embarrased hauling myself up the steps and rocks while trying not to slow down a super fit footballer too much - it has certainly been too long between trips to the gym! Anyways, these are a couple of pics we took. This would have to be right up there for one of my favourite photos of us. I used the stamp sets Weathered, Pick a Petal, Big Deal Alphabet and Short Order Alphabet.

Thank Mel for helping me get this one done - my first 12 x 12 not featuring Luana!
