French Influence

For my first posting I'd like to share some cards that are my current 'flavour of the month'.

I was asked by a friend to make a card for her to give at an engagement party; she chose a couple of designs out of the current Summer Mini Catalogue (if you don't have a copy, view it here http://catalogs.shoplocal.com/stampinup/index.aspx?pagename=shopmain&fsid=3a57ede1-9192-4e41-a636-54e2bd6cbb2d&storeid=1039381&circularid=12129) and let me loose! This is what I came up with:

The card she chose was one I came up with based on a template from my friend and upline Karen - I'm really glad she chose this one - it was my favourite of the 4.

They all use the background stamp French Flair and all but the second card use stamps from the gorgeous set Carte Postale. All the cards are made with Designer Series Paper Enchante, Pale Plum and Sage Shadow card, and the first three cards also have Certainly Celery. Inks used are Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Sage Sahdow and Certainly Celery, and the ribbons are ivory and white organdy ribbon. The brads on the first card are Hodgepodge Hardware - Antique Brass.
I think this ended up being a lovely series!
But wait, there's more.... the card that started this latest craze was made for a friends wedding:

This one also uses the Carte Postale stamp set, and I used the reverse braying technique to make the heart. Indside the Congratluations is from the Warmest Regards host set. DS Enchante paper is used again, as well as Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Very Vanilla card. Sage Shadow (sponged beneath the heart on the front) and Pale Plum inks were used, and the card was finished with ivory organdy ribbon. I was really happy with this! And many thanks to Karen again for inspiration!
I hope you have enjoyed my first posting and I look forward to your comments!!
