Makeesha's Colour Challenge

I love Makeesha's website and have been trying to diligently enter her weekly blog challenges (I think I'm going to find it difficult when I'm down south - consider this an advance warning Mel and Keesh!). Her latest challenge was a colour one, using Soft Sky, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Grey and Whisper White. This is what I came up with, which will be winging it's way to Townsville this afternoon for Paul's cousins birthday.

I hadn't used the Simply Said set yet, which I have coveted since starting SU!, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to pull it out. It's a bit hard to see, but I stamped the Whisper White with Soft Sky and mounted it on Soft Sky. I then used the different flowers for the Rose and Pumpkin, using the respective colours and tearing the outside edge of each panel. Always from the current Mini provided the funky background flowers in Whisper White and the greeting is from Short & Sweet (you have until tomorrow to get this set at 20% off!!), punched out with the word window punched - the staple is more for decoration the holding it there! A bit of Soft Sky double stitch ribbon finished the main part of the card, but it was lacking something.... so the paper piercing around the edge evolved to echo the 'outline' flowers on the panels. I'm still not sure about this one, but I'm sure Kath will love it!

Happy 30th Kath. We'll celebrate soon!!!
