Red Dragonfly Kisses

The Colour Chef Challenge this week was a tribute to American Independence Day - red, white and blue. These colours scream masculine card to me, so I thought I'd try really hard to not make a masculine card!

One of the things I love about being up here is the dragonflies - they herald the arrival of Dry Season, and some of the colours are amazing. There are a few around that are BRIGHT red, and on our trip to the Douglas Daly I was able to capture a not too bad photo of one with my little not-flash camera, but his wings are a bit hard to see.
I thought I'd use this little fella for inspiration for my red, white and blue card.

I've used Pacific Point and Real Red (Riding Hood Red just didn't cut it!) and added a bit of sparkle to the dragonfly wings with Dazzling Diamonds. For a bit of a fun touch, I added the ladybirds walking around the edge of the card!

To those of you in America - I hope you've had a fantastic 4th of July!

I love how you incorporated the white by distressing your paper! Love the card.
